GearUP Booster reviewA game connection booster for PC, mobile and consoles that reroutes laggy traffic
Very good
Brent score, out of 5
GearUP Booster is a sensible fix if your ping spikes or packets drop because of a poor route to the game server, especially when you play on servers in another region. It will not fix a weak Wi-Fi signal or a slow plan, and its subscription prices are only shown inside the app, so check the total before the free trial converts.

Best for
- Players who connect to game servers in another country or region
- Console players who want routing help without a PC (via the HYPEREV router)
- Mobile gamers with unstable ping on Wi-Fi or 4G/5G
- Friends who want LAN-style play over the internet
Skip it if
- Anyone whose lag comes from slow internet or weak Wi-Fi at home
- Buyers who want clear public pricing before installing
- Players already getting low, stable ping to local servers
You lose a fight you should have won, and the kill cam shows you were never there. Your ping jumps from 40 to 200, or the game warns about packet loss, even though your internet speed test looks fine. Often the problem is not your plan's speed but the path your game traffic takes across the internet to the server.
GearUP Booster tries to fix that path. Its software and router reroute game traffic through what it calls Adaptive Intelligent Routing, aiming to cut ping spikes, jitter and packet loss, especially on long-distance or cross-region connections. It only changes the connection, not the game itself.
This review covers what GearUP actually does on each platform, what the HYPEREV router costs, and the trial and renewal rules you should know before you start.
What is GearUP Booster?
GearUP Booster is a game network optimizer. You install the app on Windows, iOS or Android, or use the HYPEREV gaming router for consoles, pick your game, and GearUP routes that game's traffic through its own network using Adaptive Intelligent Routing (AIR) to find a more stable path to the server. GearUP says it supports 3,000+ games, works with anti-cheat systems and names BattlEye as a collaborator. Paid access is a membership; the app offers a free trial, and free tools such as LAN Play and Ping Test.

Key features of GearUP Booster
Adaptive Intelligent Routing
GearUP's core technology picks a path for your game traffic that avoids unstable long-distance hops. It targets high ping, packet loss, jitter and cross-region instability rather than raw download speed.
Wide platform coverage
There are apps for Windows 7 to 11 and for iOS and Android. Through the HYPEREV router it also covers PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series consoles, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, Oculus and Pico headsets.
HYPEREV gaming router
A small Wi-Fi 6 dual-band router with one gigabit WAN and two gigabit LAN ports that sits between your console and your main router. The shop bundles 3 months of membership, and owners get Standard Boost free permanently, with VIP Boost as a paid upgrade.
Free tools
LAN Play lets you play LAN-only games with friends over the internet, Ping Test checks your ping to a game before you download it, and a Twitch Drops tool claims drops in one click. These work without a membership.
Team plans
Duo covers 2 people and Squad covers 5, with each member getting the same benefits as the owner. GearUP says this is better value than separate memberships, but prices appear only on the payment page.
Anti-cheat stance
GearUP says it does not touch in-game data and states that users will not be banned for using it. It names BattlEye among its partners; this is the vendor's own claim, so check your game's rules if you are unsure.

Playing on an overseas server
A player in Australia joins friends on US or Asian servers and sees ping spikes and rubber-banding. GearUP routes the traffic over a steadier path, which is the case it is built for.
Console lag without a PC
A PlayStation or Xbox player cannot install apps on the console. The HYPEREV router plugs in between the console and the home router and applies boosting at the network level.
Mobile gaming on the move
A mobile player on 4G/5G or patchy Wi-Fi gets jitter in competitive games. The mobile app boosts the game connection on iOS or Android.
How to get started with GearUP Booster
- 1
Run the free Ping Test for your game to see your current ping
- 2
Download GearUP for Windows, iOS or Android, or order the HYPEREV router for consoles
- 3
Start the free trial and note the exact billing time in Account Settings
- 4
Pick your game and server region, then boost and play a few matches
- 5
Cancel at least three days before billing if it does not help

GearUP Booster: frequently asked questions
Does GearUP Booster actually lower ping?+
It can lower ping and packet loss when the problem is the route between you and the game server, such as cross-region play. It cannot fix slow home internet or weak Wi-Fi. The free trial and the free Ping Test are the best way to check for your own setup.
Is GearUP Booster a VPN?+
GearUP describes itself as a game booster, not a VPN. It routes only game traffic through optimized paths rather than tunnelling your whole connection for privacy.
Can I get banned for using GearUP?+
GearUP states that it does not interfere with in-game data and that users will not be detected or banned. It names BattlEye as a collaborator. This is the vendor's own claim, so check your game's terms if you are concerned.
How does the GearUP free trial work?+
Starting the trial is free and you are not charged when you link a payment method. The first payment is generally taken about 30 minutes before the trial ends, and cancelling during the trial ends it immediately.
How do I cancel GearUP auto-renewal?+
Go to Configure, then Account Settings, and click Cancel Auto-renewal. Cancel at least three days before the billing date; GearUP emails you three days before a charge.
Does the HYPEREV router need a subscription?+
GearUP's FAQ says a membership is required, but the shop bundles 3 months and HYPEREV owners get Standard Boost free permanently. VIP Boost is a paid upgrade.
Final verdict
Is GearUP Booster worth it?
If your speed test is fine but your games still spike, stutter or drop packets, especially on servers far away, GearUP Booster is worth a trial. Run the free Ping Test, start the trial on the device you play on, and judge it on a few real matches before the first charge.
