Zapier reviewNo-code automation across 9,000+ apps, with AI agents, Tables and Forms included
Excellent
Brent score, out of 5
Zapier is still the easiest way for non-technical teams to connect apps, and its 9,000+ integrations are unmatched. The catch is cost at scale: every successful action step uses a task, so busy multi-step workflows get expensive fast. Choose it for breadth and simplicity; look at execution-priced tools if volume is high.

Best for
- Non-technical teams who want automations running in an afternoon
- Businesses using niche SaaS apps that other tools do not support
- Teams that want AI steps, agents and MCP access in the same platform
- Companies that need SOC 2 Type II, SSO and audit logs at Enterprise level
Skip it if
- High-volume workflows with many steps per run
- Developers who want to self-host or write lots of custom code
- Anyone on a tight budget who needs multi-step Zaps
Someone on your team spends an hour a day moving data: new form leads into the CRM, Stripe payments into a spreadsheet, support emails into Slack. You know it should be automatic, but nobody has time to learn an API.
Zapier connects the apps you already use with simple trigger-and-action workflows called Zaps. It supports more apps than any rival, has AI steps and agents built in, and lets assistants like Claude or ChatGPT act in your apps through its MCP server.
This review explains what the 2026 plans include, how tasks are counted, and the point where Zapier's pricing stops being good value.
What is Zapier?
Zapier is a cloud automation platform. A Zap starts with a trigger in one app (a new row, a form reply, a paid invoice) and runs one or more actions in others. Around Zaps, Zapier adds Tables for storing data, Forms for collecting it, AI agents that act across your tools, chatbots, Canvas for mapping and documenting workflows, and an MCP server that lets AI assistants call Zapier actions. Pricing is based on tasks: each successful action step counts, while triggers and built-in utility steps do not.
Pros and cons
What we like
- 9,000+ app integrations, by Zapier's count
- Very approachable editor with Copilot to draft Zaps from plain language
- Built-in tools like Formatter, Paths, Filter, Delay and Looping do not use tasks
- Tables and Forms included, and table triggers and actions do not use tasks
- Optional pay-per-task so Zaps keep running past your limit
- Free plan plus a 14-day Professional trial with no credit card
What could be better
- Every successful action step uses a task; MCP tool calls count as 2
- Free plan is limited to 100 tasks and two-step Zaps
- Overage on monthly plans costs 2.5 times the base task rate
- Agents and Chatbots are billed as separate add-ons beyond small allowances

Key features of Zapier
Zaps and multi-step workflows
Paid plans allow multi-step Zaps with branching (Paths), filters, delays and loops. Those built-in utilities do not use tasks, only the actions in other apps do.
9,000+ integrations
Zapier lists more than 9,000 apps. If a tool has an API, there is a good chance a Zapier integration already exists.
AI steps, Copilot and agents
AI by Zapier steps run inside Zaps, and Copilot drafts workflows from a description. Agents are billed in activities: 400 a month on Free and 1,500 on Pro.
Zapier MCP
Connect assistants like Claude and ChatGPT to Zapier's apps so they can take actions. Each MCP tool call uses 2 tasks from the same pool.
Tables and Forms
Store records in Tables (2,500 on Free, 100,000 on Pro, 500,000 on Team) and collect data with Forms. Table triggers and actions do not use tasks.
Enterprise governance
Zapier states SOC 2 Type II, SOC 3, GDPR and CCPA compliance, with SSO, SCIM, audit logs and log streaming on higher tiers.

Lead capture to CRM
A Facebook Lead Ad or web form triggers a Zap that adds the contact to the CRM, sends a Slack alert and starts an email sequence. That is three tasks per lead.
Finance admin
New Stripe payments are logged to a Google Sheet and matching invoices are created in the accounting app, with a Filter step skipping test payments at no task cost.
AI-assisted support triage
Incoming support emails go through an AI step that classifies urgency, then Paths route urgent ones to an on-call channel and the rest to the helpdesk.
